Daylight Saving Time (DST)

From 2009 we are visiting USA to live with our daughter and family. It is so nice and interesting to experience the 'daylight saving time'. DST is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months by one hour so that evening daylight lasts an hour longer while sacrificing normal sunrise times. Regions with summer time adjust clocks one hour close to the start of spring and adjust them backward in the autumn to standard time. On November 5th Sunday this year it happened to fall back an hour. Today is 7th and I am not at all got adjusted with the time. Even though my iPhone and laptop got automatically corrected our clock in the kitchen and bedroom are still with the old time. For the last two days I am so comfortable to watch my favourite movies on my laptop since I feel like I got more time. Being near the equator in India we are not having this phenomenon because our day and nights are almost equal. Hence time change is not required in countries near the equator and in the tropics.
The main purpose of 'Daylight Saving Time' is to make more use of daylight. Daylight Saving Time is called as 'Summer Time'. Countries have different change dates.
The reasons behind Daylight Saving Time are
In America there is more light in the evenings can help to do more.
People can enjoy long summer evenings.
Energy conservation is possible due to Daylight Saving Time.
Traffic accidents are decreased.
Even though software adjusts clocks automatically but sometimes DST complicate such as timekeeping,  travel timings, billing, record keeping and sleep patterns.
