The Power and fun of Potlucks...

Prawn and Fish curry
The dishes were prepared for a potluck lunch and dinner on Christmas. It was for a Christmas gathering of our dinner group for lunch and for the get together dinner of best friends group. Potluck idea is great to offer a helping hand by all the guests especially in big gatherings. In our groups the dish will be assigned earlier to avoid overlapping. We prefer homemade food to be shared. The traditional rule is that each dish be large enough to be shared among a good portion of anticipated guests. The dishes may range from appetizers to deserts. In our monthly dinner group we are having a proper themed dinner which makes us explore on new areas of culinary. Once the members in the group hosts completely, than the rotation starts again. It is a total fun in different homes to have the dinner groups with games and quiz related to the theme selected. I love to be part in the potluck.
For lunch we were assigned with prawn and for dinner it was fish curry.
The prawn were prepared in coconut oil with mild chilli and tomato sauce to get the beautiful colour along with onion, garlic and ginger. The garnishing of half cooked cherry tomatoes and final touch with scallions were the high light to make the dish attracting.
The fish was cooked in coconut milk using the fish masala and kokum( Garcinia indica).
