New year outing at Gruene...

Today was a nice day with pleasant weather and a public holiday. We went to Gruene, the historic district in New Braunfels, Texas. This is our second visit. It is so worth to walk around and enjoy the rich history of Gruene. We enjoyed the seasonal live music beneath the water tower and had a unique Texas style dining enjoying the music of Guadalupe River and the beautiful greenery of Gruene.
The antique shops can be rated high even though the prices are a bit high. The unique and truly inspirational collectibles at the Dancing Bear includes jewellery, purses, candles, perfumes, home decors, candles and other accessories. Todays attraction was 25% reduction on all items in the store. They got a good collection of the items. Food tasting was there in Gruene general store, a store with lot of Texas foods, unusual gifts, books, cards, antiques, signs and tins in a nostalgic setting. All will grab a scoop of ice cream before leaving the shop. We had a great walk around enjoying nature and a great family time at Gruene this New year.
