Care your Heart to Power your Life

September 29th is World Heart Day. Theme of 2016 is 'Power your Life'. It is absolutely the need of the hour to take care of your heart and fuel your heart.
On September 28th 2007, Friday, I was busy being in an official audit team at Kochi. Early morning my husband boarded on a train to Kochi with a kind message 'don't rush back, because it will be late and will be difficult for you and me. Stay back and we can meet on Saturday evening'  that is after my regular work from Trivandrum.
Things went unexpected. (My husband was having some slight uneasiness in breathing and heaviness in his chest for the last three days, which was told to us later.) In the evening, he thought to visit his nephew, a physician, in his clinic who lives 2 miles away. He took ECG and found nothing wrong. He called over phone his friend a cardiologist, works in District hospital and went for an expert opinion. Luckily, I should say, he is out of station for the next three days and he said, 'if your uncle can come today I will be here.' My husband went on his own, without any information to any one of us. My son, a junior doctor, got a phone call from our relative doctor, shocking us with the information that my husband is in the cardiac ICU. Tests went very fast, and next morning found he got three blocks. Since our home is in Kochi, and our son is practising in Kochi, we decided to transfer him to Kochi. After arguments and written agreement only, they allowed him to transfer to Kochi. We got a mobile team of health experts along with our son in the ambulance and with 21/2 hours it reached destination at 90 miles. Angiogram revealed the blocks. One was a 'T' block which requires surgery. Decided open heart on surgery on Oct 3rd. By the grace of the 'Almighty' everything went well and we are here happy with a strong heart.
It is our duty to care our heart with kindness. Go for a 'Heart healthy Lifestyle'.
When you are open minded and able to express your emotions whole heartedly means your heart is stress free and healthy. If you are lacking the skill of expression, your heart is in the stage of a flower bud and needs a surgeon to open it up. Practice openness to fuel you heart with power of strength, love, kindness, peace, purity and compassion.It is also our duty to take part in the awareness programmes on 'World Heart Day' to encourage and support humankind to take action self, in family, in society and in the Universe. Do your exercises daily, walk a mile daily to health, include lots of vegetables and fruits in your diet to eat healthy, avoid alcohols, drugs, smoking, stay away from salty, fatty, fried and sweet foods, avoid stress of any kind and live in tune with the environment to stay happy and in harmony.
We can easily help the people around to live with healthy hearts by taking care of our heart and taking care of others reduce the intensity and burden of Cardio Vascular Diseases (CVD) and the unexpected and premature death due to CVD.

Stay in touch with Workplace friends....

Today I made a phone call to my senior friend at office who is my mentor. The chat between us go on for 15 minutes on various activities and about our annual get together in India, which falls on every second Saturday of October. We both are out of the country and we shared the missing of us in the meeting. After the chat, I thought to share the missing of the presence of our close, long related friends due to our consecutive travels.
I am retired and now lives with our daughter in USA. We use to visit and live with our son in Australia. For the last 8 years we are travelling between Australia and America to spend quality time with our children. Our home now feels like a hub for a short stay in every year. During my service I had a lot of friends who were colleagues. We had wonderful time after office and are still in good relations. We, a close knit  group of friends love  to gather once in a month for lunch and a short picnic, along with to visit our more senior friends at their home, to feel the warmth and enjoy the love and pleasure of our friendship. Being away,  I am missing the nice get-together back in our country and the functions related in connection with marriage of children and birthdays parties on an extended friendship basis.
I should say we were lucky and blessed to have the most enduring friendships in our official career in different age groups. I am getting invitations from my friends over emails and keep replying it. Thank you all my dear friends! Keeping in touch with my official life friends help me keeping a diverse circle of social contact. The regular contact with our colleagues makes us more happy and energetic. Hat's off to the most advanced technology of communication tools like, internet, Face book, emails, what's app and mobile texting to keep in touch with my best and favourite friends all around the world.
Staying in touch with colleagues during and after retirement helps us physically, mentally and spiritually to adjust happily with our beautiful life. As long as we have friendships, we won't feel lazy and lonely. Keep in touch with friends to maintain a regular and a life long friendship. The more we maintain our friendships the more active we shall be. Now I try to keep a wide circle of friends back in India, in Australia and in USA to enjoy friendships across the globe. This absolutely keeps me busy and totally engaged where ever I am. Along with friends we can be part of the society getting involved in social activities.

Recharge your brain and mind when you feel empty....

Today I feel empty. Nothing is coming into my mind to get ready for a post. Busy with my grandkids, cooking breakfast and lunch, feeding them, bathing them, playing with them, letting them to go sleep, doing 'Kumon' with the four year old, like wise too busy with household activities. When the four year went for a nap after lunch the 15month old didn't want to have a nap. He slept for two hours before lunch from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
And after evening tea and snacks with the little ones made me think, what to post in my blog today? No ideas in my brain, I feel totally empty. Why I feel like this? Every idea sparkling is getting uninspired. My brain also seems to be helpless to help me. I want to get out of this situation. Now what to do? I am in front of my computer with a blank mind. What to share today? Yes I want to post in my 'Daily Journal' of positive thinking.
 I shared this with my husband. He gave me this spark. 'You can simply write on feeling empty in your mind.' Yeah now I got an idea to share with my readers.Thinking on it gives me the tips how to get rid off the fuzziness. Thank you my dear.
What to do when we feel blank in our mind and brain?
I just went for a flash back into my life. There were such situations some times being not in the present. Even some of my friends had shared their experiences getting blank.
What we need is to get a break from our daily routine. Your brain and mind need a recharge. This is a special time you need to love yourself to free you from the present situation and save you from fighting it. Within our limitations we have to plan. If we have enough time to spare can go for an outing to a favourite spot with your loved ones and have a total break. Here I have to act according the situation. Made a short plan to hand over the grandkids to their grandpa. Yes I need to have my own time to love me and take care of me. These are the things I am going to do now.
Have a glass of fresh lime juice with honey. Go for a walk for an hour with my best friend here to have a chat. Have a bath in warm water with little salt , jasmine essence and lime juice in it. Meditate for 15 minutes focusing on the breath, while inhaling taking positive energy and while exhaling throwing away the negative energy and thoughts in me. After the bath I can do the painting in my workbook which can make me feel passionate. Hope by that time I can be quite fresh and recharged. My plan will be back to the kitchen around 8 pm, prepare dinner and to have it with our loved one's and share my experience of the day and workout with them. Even the plans ahead, has started to energise me. Today I am busy. So sorry everyone, now let me leave. Good night all my dear friends!!!

The Art of Negotiation...

Individuals are different, they are unique. The difference is the real beauty in life. In day today activities we need to negotiate. Life is a series of negotiation. We negotiate all day from wake up time to good night sleep. At home, at office, at lunch with friends, back home on family affairs like that negotiation in our life is our close companion and the vital key for a happy life. Successful life is the art of negotiation. People settle difference of opinions through negotiation. Negotiation avoids conflicts and arguments in problems/issues. Negotiation brings compromise and healthy relations.  Negotiation helps to maintain mutual respect, mutual benefit and mutual care. Negotiation skills benefits to resolve any differences in between individuals, families, groups, teams, communities, organisations, companies and nations. Negotiation is the important key to arrive in agreements without breaking relationships. Negotiation strategy should be taken up with careful preparation such as the discussions, the aim, agreement and the course of action in a win-win formula. Don't get the discussions drag which will make it a never ending process. Don't get emotional during negotiation. While negotiation is on progress proper care should be given to listen, question, communicate and clarify the problem. Care should be taken to keep the negotiation process, always positive with a mind set of optimism and compassion. Never ever take the opinions or comments in negotiation as personal. Learning to negotiate self is also very important. Talk to yourself and find out the disagree part of the argument you have with yourself and negotiate getting to a yes or no with yourself.
People with excellent negotiation skills are able to win and succeed in their lives. People with the art of negotiation leads a happy, respectful and peaceful life.

'HOPE' to live a Life of Success....

Hope is the most important key in our life to proceed further. Everyone in the world needs hope. Hope is the fuel to drive us on our expectations that we are going to win and succeed. Hope is the real faith in God. When you trust God, then you can be happy always even in bad times. Hope make us confident, strong, positive, assertive and proactive. Hope so strong to build in you a burning desire. Hope gives us the attitude that something good is going to be happened. So why to worry?
Once we have faith in our hopes, it is determined. Then there is no space to loose, we can win.
Since human nature is impatient, we need to have trust and faith in hope to achieve things even if it takes time.
The story of the rabbit and tortoise shows us the hope, patience and trust. The rabbit was so fast and ran ahead. The tortoise thought, this is a sport, I should do justice in my race. Let me complete my race. So instead of giving up, the tortoise slowly, step by step went forward. The over confidence and over self respect make the rabbit to under estimate the tortoise and went for a nap. The rabbit, slept and the tortoise wondered, yes I am on the victory stand. Hope, with faith in God and involvement in the task with dedication and devotion are very important in success.
Let's  live in hope to feel the comfort, live on hope to get sustained and live with hope to make hope as a part of our lives.
I was a person taught to live in fear in my childhood. I was under fear when I do anything. If anything bad happened I was fearful to present that before my parents. But I was also taught to have trust in God. Slowly while growing up, the strong faith in God helped me to go ahead with hopes instead of fears in my mind. This helps me sow the seeds of hope in my goals, weed off the seedlings of fear in me and proceed with a positive attitude that I can win. The trust and faith in me made me more simple, humble and down to earth which I believe the steps for success in my life.
To my readers I should say firmly, 'give no space to fear and doubt in your heart'.
When there is no fear and doubt, God will fill your heart with hope and wisdom the real steps for success and to live a peaceful life.

Harmony in Family

Family is the most wonderful place in one's life. Family means, father and mother I love you. Family in the place of total, true and unconditional love. Family is complete with father, mother, brothers and sisters.  But more than that a family is a beautiful place where there are grand parents, aunts, uncles and cousins. So also family includes pets, house, garden and back yard. When family is perfect it brings success for generations in everything. Everybody in the family lives happier means the family is in harmony. Family in harmony represents the perfect foundation of the family members. A family is a team. A team means everybody need to stand together for a goal. A family has to be a training institute. Principles and good traits need to be taught to each and everyone in the family. Once the family stands for the development and growth of others, the family will be a heaven to all.
To focus on positive approach in family avoid complaining, gossiping and blaming other members.
Trust all the family members to build up confidence and unity.
Avoid unhappiness and negative actions in between the members.
Have a round table discussion everyday around the dining table.
End the unwanted negative feelings as and when to fill with positive energy.
Don't allow any of the family member to harass an individual on misunderstandings.
Clear the clouds between family members on a everyday basis.
If any member is not at all loving the harmony in the family let them go on their own way to maintain the harmony. Harmony leads to Peace.

All love to be happy. Everyday will not be the same. There will be hard and smooth days. Let us get ready to face everyday with happy thoughts. Some can be happy even when they are not well. Some knows to be happy with humour in their life. Even without material riches some can stay happy. So happiness based on the thoughts of the individual. Happy thoughts can rejuvenate and heal the body and the mind.
  Learn to smile at others to fill you with happiness.
 Have daily exercises and meditation to stay healthy and happy.
 Take things as it comes and feel at ease.
 Take the challenges in front of you with a positive mind which makes you happy in the moment.
 Feel happy that you have the ability to face the problem and come out with solutions.
 Keep in mind, nothing is impossible, so I can win this. This feel makes you happy.
 Let things against you let go and feel gratitude in the moment.
 Dark leads to light. That's the sunset and sunrise. Hope for the rise which makes you happy.
 Keep active and engaged to experience happiness.
 Be optimistic in all your steps to feel happy.
 Practice compassion and be compassionate to feel happiness.
 Fill your mind with gratitude which results in happiness.
 

How important is a Birthday

Birthday is the day which marks the deep meaning of our humanness. It is the very special day of a in a year. To make it extraordinary we love to celebrate.
Birthday is the most beautiful day to fix your goals for the year ahead and dream to make it happen.
The celebration and the goals you fixed in the presence of  your loved ones inspires you to achieve them. Also on birthdays, you can count the blessings you have and pay gratitude to all responsible. Especially to the 'Almighty'.
 Be a special person on your birthday, be kind, generous and compassionate.
 Be a star on your birthday among your friends with happiness, trust, confidence and team spirit.
 Be a role model in your family with peace at mind and blissful with contentment.
 Be with  'God' to feel grateful for what you are and count the blessings enjoying in this beautiful life.
 Go ahead celebrate your birthday with your loved ones and feel the positive vibrations spreading out is coming back to you.




(For me I am a person not to celebrate my birthday because I am busy and engaged in routine activities. but love to spend the day with the people who have no reason to celebrate their birthday. I am associated in the activities in 'Thanalil', A home for lonely distressed women. I celebrated my  birthday with them in 2010. It was sad to know that eight of them out of twelve don't know their birthdays and there is no remembrance of their birthdays. But they are taking part in others birthdays just like the day I was with them. I thought to work on it. Collected details of their age, birth months, birth stars and some of the memories shared by their parents and aunts about their birthdays. With these information and local enquiries with seniors, I was able to fix a birthday for them and it is now being celebrated for the last five years. I am grateful to the 'Supreme Power' to be in part of this beautiful mission. Now we have a lovely in between. It is so pleasing to see the special feel and acceptance of nostalgia in these beautiful ladies when they were treated special.)

Dream and Make it Happen...

Dreams are the key part in living a better life. Kids dream of playing with their friends and dreaming play dates. All has the right to dream and make it happen. Dream in your field of operation. Dream where you will be next year, five years later, after a decade, after fifty, after sixty and that. Go on dreaming and fixing the goal in your life. Work hard with a burning desire, determination and devotion to make your dreams happen. There is no cut off age to dream. Dream makes one enthusiastic, creative and innovative. Dreams make one to lead a productive life and to excel in their life. So why to doubt? Let us dream and fix the goal to achieve.
Behind every successful enterprises and people there had been dreams. 'Disney World' is the dream of Walt Disney with a mouse. Like that the biographies of winners narrated about their dreams which lead to success. These books are wonderful guides which we can read and get inspired.
The dream should be big rather than small. The dream should be analysed before implementing. The steps in every stage should be researched by you. An example towards this is interesting.
Two friends went for fishing one day. One was catching fish, but he was leaving them carefully back into the river. The other was also getting enough. Why you are not collecting the fish you caught, his friend asked. His answer was,' I am having a small pan, the fish I caught, can't get fit in the pan.'
The friend told him, Oh why can't you cut it and cook in the pan? That idea opened his eyes and had fish for his dinner that day. Like that, go for big dreams to succeed in life.
Small dreams don't allow one to develop to the fullest. Your limited thoughts and beliefs make you feel you can't reach the point.
I love to serve the world. In my official career, I was able to do my work with due respect and great involvement. Then after retirement, where should I be? Lot of ideas came into my dream to live my life to my satisfaction.
Thought of starting a play group for infants and toddlers, starting a day care centre for old women, conducting a yoga and meditation centre for women and girls like that. I love travel, photography, visiting our friends and relatives, likewise my passions are also too strong. Our children live in different continents where our services are required and with love and gratitude, I used to say we are 'on call'. Then how the above programmes will go smoothly.
Then comes my freelance works on social activities, volunteering, spiritual groups, writing, blogging, teaching yoga to the needy, conducting and taking classes in the awareness programmes of voluntary organisations like, AIWC, OISCA International, Thanalil and other local organisations. I belief I am on 'On Call' by the Supreme Power and ever ready to act. Now I am an author, a writer and a speaker for the goodness and wellness of our people and communities in the planet. I can very well adapt in the communities of other continents during the visit to our children by doing some little things for the beautiful people where ever I am. I am so thankful to the 'Almighty', guiding me to lead this life as 'who I am' and 'for what I am'.
When we start full filling our dreams, the challenges will get tackled easily and wisely, through  disciplined systems, over coming hurdles ahead, finally winning your goals and targets and becoming a role model in your society to inspire and motivate others.
It is very easy to live a normal, average and happy life. People around will always support you. Living normal in one side it is cool and happy but if you want to live your life to the fullest, than don't go for short cuts and with easy and leisurely plans, go forward, the path is clear in front of you with miles and miles ahead. It is clear there may be and have adventures in front of you. So also people around you at this stage may criticize you, instead of living quietly you are very ambitious and pretending to be smart. Never ever get pulled back based on the comments of your loved ones, take a firm decision that your life is to live to the fullest with a service mind to serve the mankind and the Universe.

# Remember Me # WAM2016

September is the World Alzheimer's Month, an international campaign to raise awareness and challenge the stigma that surrounds dementia. This was launched in September 2012 with a decision to introduce the full month to contain the existing Day and enabling the Alzheimer's associations across the Globe to extend awareness campaigns and programmes over a period of one full month. The World Alzheimer's Day is on 21st September and was launched on September 21st 1994 in Edinburgh at the opening of ADI's annual conference. September every year the associations around the world gain recognition for the hard work they do. All can participate in the awareness programmes and generate more details and information about dementia, a serious disease or state that will affect more and more people every year. I thought of sharing about my best friend on the theme for World Alzheimer's Month 2016 # Remember Me #.

One of my dearest friend, 75 years old, to whom I said bye to proceed to Australia on 20th January 2016. On my return in June 2016, she was not recognising me. The sad part was, when I was with her, her daughter and family came to visit. She was asking, who are you? Daughter replied don't you remember me? She looked at her, said no. Then she told, tell me your name? The moment she heard her name, she hugged her daughter and told, how sad, I forgot you, my dear. The moment she heard her daughters name, she recollected some beautiful memories. She even recognised me when I told her my name. Then she said, something not related with the present moment. She was so kind and asked me not to leave without having lunch. Lunch is ready. You all please have lunch. Like that she was caring each one of us. The time was 8pm. She is not knowing the difference between day and night. A loving home nurse was by her side, to take care of her. Her loving husband 80 years old, seemed to be heart broken with a helpless attitude. They both are blessed to live with their son and family and daughters nearby. On a sudden, within three months this situation happened to my friend. She was such a generous and compassionate person in her life. This is a serious situation in most seniors in the sunset of their life. They need loving approach. The advanced and fast life is making their children too busy, that they can't even spend time with their parents. The best thing is to have trained caretakers to love them and keep them clean, engaged and active.
Prayers for all suffering with Alzheimer's. May God shower blessings on them for their very best!!!
We have to include some exercise in our life. Better to start earlier or not later than middle age.
As a social activist and a yoga trainer, let me scribble some simple tips to take care off.
Vigorous physical activity during middle age helps in a lower risk of cognitive impairment in later phase of life. Kundalini yoga with meditation every day improves memory skills in recalling phone numbers, names of person, films, and remembering dates and years of important events of self, family and friends. Yoga also helps to experience peace which decreases anxiety and stress. Those doing Yoga, are able to cope with adverse situations easily. Exercises for the brain is very important. Rather than your daily routine, go for Sudoku, quiz programmes, drawing, painting, puzzle solving, volunteering which help greatly to boost your brain and sharpen your brain.

Peace is a journey where we must work for....

Global act of peace need to happen now. Feel that we all are one in the planet. This is the catalyst of true peace to planet and the human in earth.
The most important day and event in September is the International Day of Peace, that falls on 21st. This day is also declared as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence. The day's theme for 2016 is 'The sustainable Development of Goals: Building Blocks for Peace'.
 It is an agenda for people, to end poverty in all it's forms.
 It is an agenda for the planet, our own home.
 It is an agenda for shared prosperity, peace and partnership to achieve in 2030.
The goals include, to eliminate poverty, reduce inequality, foster innovation,
To assure health and wellbeing, pure drinking water, carbon free energy,
To provide education to all, to empower girls and women, economic growth and decent work,
To protect life under sea and land, sustainable development in all areas and
To build up peace and justice in our planet.
The day is dedicated to 'World Peace', specifically to strengthen the ideals of peace both within and among all nations and peoples.
The goals are our shared vision of humanity and a social contract between the world's leaders and the people. As the residents of this beautiful planet we all have to accept the goals as our to do list and act on it to make it happen and enjoy with all the people in the Universe.
We all have a stake and has a contribution to make and mobilize the means of implementation including financial resource, technology development and transfer and capacity building as well as role of partnerships.

Compassion the most important Pillar of Peace

Compassion leads to peace. Compassion is the most admirable human trait. Compassion is a key component of a peaceful mind set that enables us to place ourselves within a larger picture of human life. Compassionate people are always helpful, generous, understanding, acceptable, loving and kind. Compassion means 'suffering with'. Treating others as our self and taking their problems to their heart to solve in a positive approach. Compassion is more then sympathy and empathy. Those who realises their inner strength can only be compassionate. Just like meditation, compassion need to be practiced daily to reinforce in self. Understanding selflessness helps to express compassion. Compassionate individuals hold on their interests for the serving the needy. Compassion is the action raising from emptiness. It arises from both on personal level and on the universal level of great cultures. Compassion simply means 'doing only good'. Being compassionate results in expressing wisdom.
Compassion promotes inner strength and a nature of liberality and transparency towards others. Compassion creates a community that is most caring and accepting others. Compassion helps us to involve actively in trying to make the world a better and a more peaceful place. Compassion overcomes the limits of 'ego' and begin to relate to the world. Compassionate people can appreciate and accept others with their needs and interests. Compassion kindles fellow feeling and brings up mercy, forgiveness, altruism, love and kindness.  Serving the humanity by being compassionate helps to experience inner peace and to extend it more quickly to others. It helps to uplift happiness and peace to the humanity.
A sense of caring and expression of compassion leads to 'Peace'.

Smile beautifully and spread the waves of peace in and around...

Smile from heart is not at all artificial. We can feel the warmth, love and compassion from a beautiful smile and it is a valuable gift. I recollect the photographs of my parents in our album. They are with smiling faces in the pictures. The photos taught me lots and lots about love, kindness, hope, compassion, innocence, goodness, happiness, bliss and then what else. A beautiful smile is awesome. A beautiful smile can shift the situation of 'ego' to oneness. There comes the peace. We can spread peace. It is in our hands. So why to hesitate, let us smile and go ahead and experience peace and spread peace and do our part in changing the world to a better place.
Peace is absolutely associated with ego. 'Ego' means Edge God Out'. If we feel over confident in ourselves then we will not be considerate of others. When we forget to see the others and smile at others means we lack the showering of blessings. That is the lack of 'fear' in God. In my earlier posts I have told to get rid of fear. So here I want to correct this statement as lack of 'love' in God. Loving God is nothing that loving the 'Universe' and the other things and living beings where we belong. Love means, it is the ability to deal the adverse conditions in a pleasant way with a beautiful smile and with a mutual understanding. What we do for us and others is doing good for us only. Any negative deeds from one to others will results in pain and hurt of self and close ones. Doing good deeds helps to win the challenges and battles we face in our lives. The ultimate result is that we have peace on the earth and to make it heavenly for us and others.
I would like to share the rhyme of happiness here.
The time to be happy is now,
The place to be happy is here,
The way to be happy is to make someone happy and
Have a little heaven right here.
A small breathing exercise when we are not happy and able to smile. Assign five minutes for this exercise. This breathing can be done anywhere.
'Sit comfortably in a chair or if possible on a mat in cross legged posture.
Breath in slowly and deeply and feel that you are calming your body and mind. Breath out and smile. This allows you live in the present moment rather in the past. This helps you to understand you are now here to smile and be happy.'
If we are happy and service minded, we can smile and spread happiness and peace within, everyone in our family, our entire community and the Universe.
We have to practice simplicity, to stay humble and to love others. Once you are in it you can smile beautifully from your heart and wonders people and inspires with the positive energy around you.
Be joyful and greet others with a beautiful smile on your lips to spread the waves of peace in and around you. If we can behave peaceful, happy and smile as we go through our day, then no doubt we are taking away the gloominess and helping others to smile and stay in a happy mood. Through our happiness and smile we can cheer others and brighten the world and making a positive impact.
There is no loss in this deal.
We are making us good, making others good thus benefitting everyone around us.

Power of Prayer in creating Peace...

Prayer is an important element in having peace of mind. Prayer is a divine communication with the Almighty to lead us in the right path to full fill our goal in life. I believe the prime goal in our life is to liberate the soul and do service to change the world into a better place. Prayer gives one the strength of courage, strength of trust, light of kindness and compassion. It is very clear prayers help to live a peaceful life. When we are in the right path then we can lead the world to the right path.
In a dinner party, we can taste the different foods and collect recipes and again cook the dishes and enjoy the taste. It is fun to enjoy food in a group. Like wise prayer in groups have stronger vibrations to heal the participants and the environment. Prayer is a series of positive thoughts. Positive thoughts give positive results in our paths. When praying in a group we are praying together for us and for the Universe resulting in the goodness of us. When we pray together positive vibrations are formed and sent, the effects will be positive and will be wholesome. We want peace in our life, Prayer brings peace and we can experience and enjoy peace and spread the rays of peace through out the world.
Today was my little grandson's second birthday. Today was a bhajan day. Monthly there is a bhajan arranged in the house of a member in the group with a pot luck dinner. So thought of joining the bhajan today for special prayer. In the bhajan group when all start chanting together there is no space for unwanted thoughts to conquer our mind. Each and everyone in the group will be in a flow of chanting mantras with a same tone and frequency. This prayers spread positive vibrations and fill positive energy in all and the surroundings. Let us relax in the Almighty's comfort and peace. Power of prayer heals us from all worries and can witness miracles happening in our life. When we are comfortable peace comes on the way.

Avoid Overthinking to find Peace in the present moment

We love to stay positive always, but sometimes it can be happened to get into negative thinking. Usually while we are organizing an event it is very important to delegate the activities to teams to get it done smoothly. If not we will worry about the past mistakes and current issues and stresses which will lead us to negative thoughts and results in negative outcomes. When one thing happened bad, we start to connect with all the past failures and be in a miserable situation. This can makes one to worry about the present event and things can easily go wrong.
So what to do is instead of overthinking on an event, start analyzing how to make it a success.
Overthinking become a pattern in those who are doing this frequently. Know the problem you have and take right action in the right time to stop overthinking by accepting your team and believe in delegating. Once the problems are solved and you are out of worries you are in the right path. Meditation and breathing exercises as a routine in your life helps to get away from overthinking. Get involved in discussing the progress on a systematic schedule which can makes you relaxed. The team is behind you to make it a success and the feel and feedback strengthens you and leave you stress free. Worries usually control the flow of life and block the flow of trust and love to others. Overthinking also makes the negative thoughts to become true. The more we worry the more negative happenings will be the result. So worrying is a misuse of  positive energy. To live happy and peaceful in the present moment be mindful in your thoughts.

Peace in Retirement....

People generally think that we are happy after retirement. Is it true? Not 100% true.
I retired eight years before. I have a lot of friends including my seniors who are retired. Even those who were vibrant and dynamic in their official service tend to become unhappy or stressful to different reasons and situations. Our retirement was at the age of fifty five and in a pretty good health condition. But most of the retirees directly enter into a relaxed mood and rest life. They unknowingly or knowingly get away from entertainments and get together parties by finding out excuses of doctor's appointment, taking care of grandkids or grown up children. Gradually they will get cut out from the invitee list of friends and colleagues due to their absence in functions.
This situation normally happens slowly and will get completed in a decade when we are sixty five. By the time our grandkids might have turned to stand on their own feet and children busily engaged with their family, official and social tie ups. We will be in a lonely situation without any social connections. This a serious and critical situation where an individual become unhappy and sleepless.
This is junction where the minor ailments wake up to wrap us and make us helpless and agitated which leads to conflict and distressed both within and outside. They will easily get into a negative attitude and mind set loosing trust, faith and belief in all the things around, incidents and happenings. They find fault with each and everything, where nobody can help them. Easily they become sick and they trust on medicines and doctor's appointments.
We have to keep up 'outward orientation' instead of 'inward orientation'  that leaves us isolated.
Find your own time daily and do some personal exercise/yoga and meditation/ favourite sports/passions.
Be systematic and disciplined in celebrating traditions with family and friends.
Manage bank accounts on your own to lead a satisfied and happy life.
Retirement is the greatest time of self discovery. Plan for it wisely to lead a peaceful life without disturbing others. Get  ready to do some favourite or some new things to live with enthusiasm. Start your spiritual journey if not yet, or other wise strengthen your spiritual path. It will help to face life as it comes and helps to live fearless. Instead of the fear of coming to an end in your life, practice to appreciate each and everyday with gratitude for the nice little things we are enjoying.
Finally the path to peace in our twilight years are in our hands. Being in a spiritual and positive group helps one to find peace, provided that should be your like group. It will be the comfortable path if planned taking into consideration the way of your style and comforts. Peace is the ultimate aim in our life.

Let's Go with the Flow of Life and enjoy love and peace

Once we are in a flow, we can be more conscious, attentive and peaceful to the task at hand. Special care and attention to the work help us to enjoy and have fun while doing. It is mentally rewarding and keep us going with the flow of life.
We can see even people are enjoying luxuries in life are not happy. Why is that?
Here I recollect one of the beautiful scenes I saw in my life and tempt me to live a beautiful life. Back from my office in bus, in a bus stop, I saw the contentment and happiness of a couple. They are beggars and live where ever they reach the evening. That day, the beautiful scene was they were feeding each other with the food in a plate. No worries for them, the love, sincerity, commitment and oneness feeling in between them was a real eye opener. They were free of fear, even without a shelter they were able to enjoy their life. I felt that they were the true children of the Almighty. No 'Ego' between them, no demands, no expectations, only love, happiness, peace and gratitude for the day's dinner. Why all are not happy in their life?
The simple reason is that, those who are happy in their life are choosing a state of grace where they peacefully surrender to the natural flow of things. Grace allows them to live in faith and express trust in whatever is happening in the present moment. By accepting the life supported by grace helps to live in a happy and peaceful way. When we are in a flow of life we can see that the experiences both good and bad were and are for the best. It helps to shift our attitude to the problem and results in a  change for our best.  This will allow us to live in a loving and way with gratitude, happiness and peace by extending to other people where ever you are.

Purpose of life.....Peace for all.

Bring peace to all around us to enjoy good health and real happiness by experiencing peace within. Get disciplined to control self in every occasions. When we can control our self then we can find the way to spirituality and enjoy wisdom and bliss. Unless we are peaceful within we can never obtain peace in the outer world. Peaceful doesn't mean that we are not having any challenges. Even in critical situations peaceful state help us to handle the conflict in a healthy way. Inner happiness is a state of mind. If we are at peace we can be happy even if we have nothing. But if we have every luxuries we wish and no peace at mind leads  us to unhappy. A beautiful smile, a kind heart, a loving touch and oneness feeling with others can create peace around and within us. Trying to understand the universe, where science and spiritual meet is very important to stay healthy, happy and enjoy peace. See and experience the peace within to create and enjoy peace outside. Always remember our purpose in life. Humans as a social being the purpose is to help others. Knowingly or unknowingly never ever hurt another human. Happiness and peace are not readymade things. It has to come from our own actions.

Onam brings Prosperity, Happiness and Peace

Onam, a national festival of Kerala, India is celebrated in Chingam month of Malayalam calendar. Onam used to fall on later August or earlier September. This year Onam is on 14th September. It is a harvest festival. This festival is celebrated by Malayalees of  all religions, Government and non governmental organisations taking this as an opportunity to foster communal harmony, ecological sensitivity and peace among the people. The main celebration of Onam is on Thiruvonam.
The important observances of Onam lasts for ten days includes Pookalam (floral designs), distribute agriproducts and new clothes to the needy, after a bath wear new clothes, Onakkali (traditional plays and games), Vallamkali (country boat race) and Sadya (a vegetarian feast) with all the family members together with grandparents. The two days following Thiruvonam is also celebrated as third and fourth onam.
Onam is the occasion for people to remind themselves of all the pervasive nature of divine. It is a moment to reincarnate a past of goodness and prosperity.
Onam promotes communal harmony, social cohesion and peace.
 Onam strengthens the bonds of unity and brings happiness, prosperity and peace to all.
Celebrate Onam with a heart filled with peace, love and hope and carry the spirit of Onam in your entire life to enhance the spirit of peace, brotherhood and justice. Take this day to reaffirm our commitment to build up a prosperous and peaceful community.

Health and Peace through Yoga and Meditaion....

Yoga and Meditation help individuals in the Universe live healthy and peacefully. Yoga is an amazing path to health,, harmony and peace. Through Yoga the body is cleansed, the mind is purified and the soul will be in bliss. This situation helps us to be serene even in adverse situations and thus we can make others around us happy and healthy. We can embrace love and kindness through daily Yoga. It is important to learn yoga and fix a package of exercises that you love and practice the techniques systematically to get the maximum benefit for you.
Today we see and hear plenty of domestic violence both between persons, within family and also in communities and societies. The violence in politics is also a common thing now a days. Violence initiates tension, stress, anger and anxiety which directly affects health of the person. As a responsible person, what we can do is to get rid from arguments to avoid violence. Starting everyday with a simple meditation helps one to stay in calmness and peace. Fix everyday goal to get engaged and involved in productive activities. When we are properly engaged in duties and activities, there are no space to get into quarrels or difference of opinions. Then we can make everyday purposeful with  beautiful goals which helps to maintain health and happiness which provides inner peace. Meditation helps the person to experience and enjoy inner peace. Once the mind is free from tension  and negative thoughts, the person can experience the oneness feeling. When we have the oneness feel there will no competition for positions and status between persons, family members and neighbours.
Once the unhealthy competitions come to an end health and happiness can over rule physically and mentally.
 Let us participate in community activities to teach yoga and meditation to create a healthy community to experience inner peace. Peace is a natural state and is the force of nature. To be at peace is one's own effort to achieve in life. Love is the oiling element that leads to peace. Love is an extraordinary force which leads people to experience peace in their life. Peace can be enjoyed by people whether they are poor or rich, educated or not provided they have a loving attitude to understand others in their life.
Love in  family creates a beautiful and peaceful family.
Love in a society helps developing the society.
Love in a community benefits the welfare of the members.
Love in a state results in harmony of the people and politics.
Love in a country builds peace among the people.
Love in the globe creates happiness and harmony.
Love makes one free of fear, doubt and anger, non judgmental and makes one flexible to adjust and change with the situations. Loving and like minded people can easily listen to the peace inside and listen to the peace within others. Love makes one to experience peace. Once we are at peace, then we are capable to love ourselves, allow peace to influence everything we do and enjoy peace with everyone we are with.

 All of us are basically selfish. What ever we do we expect something in return. We should definitely be thankful to those who stood by us. But we should concentrate daily on kind acts to do good for others, without expecting anything, which absolutely brings internal satisfaction and happiness.
Everybody is unique and right in their own way. Accept others what they are in their way. Every event has some significance. Do not get bothered in other's mistakes. For the sake of our own health and happiness forget about others problems. Not only forget if it affects us forgive them wholeheartedly. Forgiveness means releasing our own feeling of hurt, pain, stress and anger. It helps to develop compassion, kindness, love and respect for the one who hurt us. Otherwise our blood pressure will be increasing.

Praying doesn't lead to spirituality. In a sense praying is a sort of begging. Praying even weakens the individual. The person depends on the praying without knowing his own strength.

Enjoy Inner Peace and radiate Positive Vibes

Everyday is different and unique. Due to some unexpected and unpredictable reasons some days will have more pressure or stress or strain on us which is beyond our control. Commonly we spoil the day blaming on the external factors making us be in a safe place. Is that what we needed? Will this be a solution in our life to face challenges? Shall we become role models to our successors?
So what we need is to come out of the negativity and radiate positive vibes by experiencing Inner Peace'. That is in our own hands whether we need to have inner peace or to find excuses in every incident and be silly in life.
In my life I believe in the Supreme Power and visualise the golden rays showering on me filling my whole body with kindness and love, taking away all the negative thoughts and thus having the fresh feel of positive vibes in my heart, mind and soul.
My practical approach in life is,
To get away from problematic situations and people.
Avoid arguments with aggressive people.
Say no harm, think no harm and do no harm to others.
Trust the Supreme Power in my weaknesses and have gratitude in my strengths.
These strategies help me to let go of the stresses of daily life and achieve inner peace.
There is a saying, 'When you are happy, thousands are around you; and when sad or helpless, only your shadow.' That is the common thing we all frequently face in our lives. This clearly shows when life is uncertain and unstable there will be no external force for our security.
The inner stability and calmness is the only way to keep up positive energy in a dull and negative situation. Switch your focus to get engaged with some of your favourite activity like having a cup of hot tea, talking with your close one who cares you and who is bold in life, plan some activities in the evening with your family or take out your painting/ jewellery/drawing/stitching kits out and fix a target to change your mind from the hard and painful situation. This will allow your mind to take care and love yourself. Tell your close friend that you have started an art. The follow up by your friend will keep you going to finish the piece of work and get appreciated.
Now see, you are relaxed a little bit. Aren't you? Forget about the clouds of doubt and fear in you. Now focus on 'Peace'. You can achieve the and enjoy the peace within you. Is there any doubt?
No way, you are not having any trace of doubt about yourself. Get ready to experience 'Peace'.
Yes the 'Peace' within you. Nurture the present moment rather than the past or future. Put your favourite calm music as background to create a meditational mood and enjoy the divinity. Believe in the 'Supreme Power', entrust yourself with faith and surrender to the invisible force which lead us in our entire life journey. Now you are connected with the 'Supreme Power', feel the freshness, energy, support and enjoy the positive vibes within you. Inner Peace is a journey. Never be in a hurry to achieve your inner peace. It is a process. So take firm determination to achieve your 'Inner Peace'. Do it step by step and every day in a quiet and calm spirit. There will be challenges on the path of this process; but do not surrender yourself, go ahead with this valuable journey to attain your 'Inner Peace'.
When you find peace within yourself, you can live at peace with others even in adverse situations and spread positive vibes through out your life and the environment that surrounds you.

Peace in Work....Enjoy Peace in every step

At office or work place we can see different types of people. Pleasant and unpleasant, aggressive and possessive, arguing and submissive, loving and hatred, kind and unkind like wise people are totally different. Even the job can be boring and the boss can be very autocrat. Some days we need to handle unfriendly clients.
We can hear the conversations between friends eagerly waiting for a long week end or for a vacation to get refreshed from this daily chaos at work place. The wait is for getting out of the daily life and have some inner peace. But is it a healthy situation for a person to have a vacation for experiencing inner peace. No, not at all.
Every day will not be the same even at office, home or in personal life. But to find happiness rest upon you only. If one can feel a home away home situation at work place means, the person is having peace at mind. So let us learn to experience peace and enjoy every moment, right where we are. When our mind is peaceful the whole atmosphere become peaceful. Some tips to take care to enjoy peace at office and to support others experience peace who are surrounded in our life.
Always give priority to set your goals ready to achieve the next day.
Wake early to have your personal time to get ready and relaxed.
Give a hand to your spouse and kids at home to start their day happily.
Utilise the travel time to office to read your favourite book, listen to your favourite music or whatever you prefer to do.
Greet your colleagues at office and having a nice chat for a few seconds to have healthy relations.
Take a break whenever you are tensed or in low energy during work.
Talk in a nice way and be polite with only positive words in your discussions.
Always avoid discussions with your dislike persons to maintain peace in your mind.
Get involved in your work to get away from other thoughts of distractions.
Visualize a peaceful and fruitful discussion with a demanding boss or someone who makes you and others tensed or angry.
Don't compete with anybody at office to be in a better place, do your work and leave it to come on it's own way.
Don't carry your office work at home to destroy the peace at home.
At home get refreshed, have a nice and fun time with family at the dinner table.
Before bed feel grateful for the beautiful day we had and await for the beautiful sunrise in our life.

Peace of Mind is important for Inner Peace and Outer Peace

One, having  peace in his own mind, can only create a peaceful atmosphere. Peace of mind is the only success key to lead a happy and healthy life. Peace of mind is really so great to be in a calm state with no worries, fears, anxiety and stress. Having peace at mind means you are experiencing serenity and freedom. Human mind is always wandering. If you want to be in a calm state and if you work on it only can leave you in inner peace. If you are weak in controlling yourself, your whole world will be upset for you and others around you. It will also make you in a state blaming others to find excuses to save yourself. That again lead to more unhealthy situation and let the peace go far away from you.
Never ever loose your inner spirit even if you are upset.
Bring more peace of mind to experience calmness in difficult situations. Turn it into a habit to enjoy more peace in life.
 Get away from negative readings, shows and talk to avoid negative thinking, thoughts, sadness, anger and anxiety. When you go through such things you won't keep quiet, you start sharing those negative incidents with your dear and near ones leaving everybody stressed.
Learn to forget and forgive, because grudges will help to create ill feelings and anger. To let go negative feelings is one of the hardest thing. Lack of peace in mind leads one to low esteem and jealous. In long run it will lead to stress, anxiety and depression.
Embrace change and learn to adjust in the new situations with cheer and enthusiasm to find new ways to cope up with the change.
Live in the present and forget the unwanted and unhappy memories in the past. Past is gone and is a history, future is a dream and so is a mystery and present is here in our hands to experience 'God' within and 'God' in others.
Learn to focus our mind, not to take things personally, practice patience and don't get attached to anything. Try meditation and make it a habit to practice a few minutes every day which makes one happy and peaceful. This will make a difference in our mind and our lives. Inner peace leads to external peace and results in an overall peaceful life for us both in the inner and outer world.

As far as possible gather together for prayer and meals. Share other's burden with kindness to lighten other's and be in peace. Work energetically and cheerfully to inspire and motivate others at home. Love all at home in a same way to be generous. Love can remove all negative attitude at home. Share everything at home and offer support to all at home. Always pray to the Almighty to bring happiness and peace at home.
Avoid complaints and disputes to live happily and provide harmony and peace at home. Be transparent and open at home to feel all at home are mutually dependent. Contribute the little things that suit your home to stay in peace.

Let us join the Team and live in a We feeling to change the World into a better place

As me, I can't do much for the wellness of the world. As a 'Team' we can achieve more than what I wish. Today's fast and advanced technology is making almost all to stay on their own.
At home one will be on I-phone, other watching TV, other on I-Pad, and may be others on lap top, game room, media room like that. Even there is no stipulated dinner time, because everybody is enjoying their own time and preferred food. Dining table is the most important place to have a discussion with all family members. Also all at home are having keys of the house and free to go out and come back home without disturbing anybody else in the house. But we are missing that and staying alone.
At outside and offices also all like to stay away from others with a good intention not to interfere in others activities and passions. So unlike past now a days every body are living in their own space.
A simple thought on transformation of 'I' to 'WE' reveal that even 'Illness' can be replaced to 'Wellness'. Living in a 'WE' feel and convert all negative energy to positive energy.
Together we can change the world. Let us join a community in our local area who are wholeheartedly making the world to be in a better place.
We feeling is really magical and can create wonders in personality. Instead of pointing one to blame, as a team we can share the responsibility to feel good of all the members. We can create wonders as a team or a community. Lots of creative and innovative ideas will flow spontaneously as a team of 'WE'.

Stay Connected to build up World Peace

Today morning my four year old grandson asked me,
Grandma, do you live with us for ever?
Yeah, I love to, what's your wish?
I love you both and my Achachan and Achamma( his paternal grandparents) to live with us for ever in this house.
What a heavenly offer by the little one. Really we are blessed!
Now a days, extended family thoughts are vanishing and there is no scope to have a large family. Now we can see in the mid age of life every body is down sizing their house because their kids are away for studies. That can be even a message to the youngster, that you are planning to stay away so why we maintain a big house. Like wise things are being changed in the world. For sure they will lose their inner happiness and there will be less harmony when kith and kins are away.
Let us stay connected for a better and healthy world. There a huge community of individuals outside our world, wishing to get connected to live in social contacts. Aged people without social contacts are leading a depressed and unhappy life. Connecting with people makes us happier and enables us to enjoy our life. Kids are innocent, smart and always positive to get connected and stay connected. But the special situations of a lot of adults are different. They start socializing only in closed circles of their friends, neighbours and relatives in special occasions. Staying connected keeps us happy, positive and also healthy. Connecting helps us to know the life around us and how much different are others and their needs. Staying connected helps us to open our eyes to situations and events where service and compassion is needed. It also helps us to know each other better and letting others into our beautiful world around.
  " A beautiful face will age and a perfect body will change but a beautiful soul will always be a beautiful soul".
This statement clearly reveals about the beautiful soul, which can only engage and stay in good and healthy connections without any expectations or returns back. So also a beautiful soul can only take care of the carriers, the body and the mind to lead a happy and peaceful life.

Awake to build up Harmony...

Goodbye August and welcome September the month of 'Hope'.
For me September is a happy month with celebrations. Our beautiful girl was gifted by' Almighty' in September. Our handsome son got married and our chubby cheeky grandson arrived in September. So all are the reasons for celebration in our family circle.
Now for me the most important event in September is 'The international Day of Peace' falls in this month. As a social being I take this as my responsibility also to do the maximum through the organisations I am associated and in my personal level. It is on 21st September of every year and is also declared as a day of global ceasefire and non - violence. It is an agenda for happiness, prosperity and peace through out the Globe.
 " If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."  Mother Teresa

This statement reminds us that we are the beautiful children of the 'Supreme Power', we belong to the same world and same community and the loss of others is our loss and the gain of others is also our gains. Then why should we wait to start our role.
Every connection, every conversation and every relation ship in our life has a purpose and a blessing. We are all dependent on each other. As an individual we are weak and together we have limitless opportunities to explore and implement. In this chaotic world we need to wake up to get rid of all the sins happening around. Peace is a unifying factor.
We belong to each other. Let us join our hands for a dynamic purpose to build unity among mankind to avoid war and build harmony in the Universe.
