Libraries are important Corner stones of a Society ❤️

Libraries are stores of knowledge and information. Libraries preserve a valuable record of culture. As the gateway of knowledge and culture, libraries play a great role in society. Libraries connect people to people. They help the the people irrespective of age for reading, learning and education and even strengthen friendships. Libraries in a society are unique.
While in Pimpri at our son in law Manoj’s home, we got an opportunity to befriend with Ms Kutty, who is the President of Women’s wing of Sangamam Malayalee Samajam and in charge of the library under the Samajam. As a writer and author we used to carry a set of our books along with us. It really was  a great pleasure for us to donate our books to the library πŸ“š The books were donated in the care
of Mr Vijaykrishna Menon, dad of Manoj. Due to the ‘Novel Corona Virus’ the library is closed.
Ms Kutty visited our home and received the books on behalf of the library on 17th Tuesday. Thank you all, the honourable committee of the for accepting our books. The books are on health science, self help, cookery and travel. Thank you all ❤️πŸ™

Nostalgia and Passion for making coconut leaf ribs brooms 🌴

Coconut palm (Cocos nucifera) belongs to the palm tree family, Aracaceae.
One of our coconut tree at Pune happened to encroach the area of car porch. Here it is very difficult to get coconut climbers. So at last decided to cut down to avoid the danger of falling the coconuts directly in front of the car porch and gate. Yesterday it was cut down. We were really sad to miss our coconut tree. Our cousin couple was also here. Lots of coconuts, tender coconuts, coconut leaves, the edible sweet part inside the crown were the attraction. We know the importance of coconut, tender coconuts and the byproducts such as coconut milk, coconut powder, coconut oil, virgin oil, vinegar, ice cream, candy etc. Our cousin Usha made a delicious dish out of the tender portion inside the crown with grated coconut for lunch. Then we made brooms with the ribs of coconut leaves. We were busy for two days 😍 My father was a coconut farmer. In my teenage I learned to make the brooms because it was one of the things our mom entrusted us to do. Married to a farming family and when we settled in heart of a town, there too we cultivated coconut. Now the home where our daughter is married is also having coconut trees. Being an Agriculture expert I was blessed and

so happy to associate with coconut, throughout my life. It’s my nostalgia and passion to make brooms out of coconut leaf ribs.

Heavenly Journey today πŸ™

I have posted about this beautiful soul on 8th, Sunday, International Women’s Day.
Today she left this world for her eternal journey. She was in a home of angels where they took utmost care in her last days. She was admitted in the home on 22nd February this year by lovely souls
Ms Shyla and Ms Anupa who were wholeheartedly behind the great service. Me too got an opportunity to visit her. This picture was taken on 1st March. She was weak. Her two children, daughter and son, who were not able to visit their ailing mom or they didn’t turned up to meet and take care of their mom in her last days even after getting messages. Both are known to be highly educated and well placed outside Kerala. Very very shame of you guys. Where are you going to wash out all these sins. Don’t worry. Your mom left this world in Peace with the support of kind people around her. Shyla and Anu, you both did great service to Ms Sobhanamma in right home of angels. God BlessπŸ™ May her soul rest in Peace πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

Surprise guests are always welcome πŸ™

Shivrathri celebrations are very important for Aluvites. Early morning we used to go to the temple and worship Lord Shiva. After our return from temple around 10am I got a phone call from my lovely higher secondary school (Predegree) friend who hails from our native place and is now with her son and family at Kochi. She wish to worship Lord Shiva on the day in the evening. The crowd shall be huge and special traffic measures are there to control vehicles and crowds. I was so happy and thrilled to have my friend and her husband as our guests on the auspicious day. Then it happened. They came at 5pm. We had a great chat with tea. It’s only walkable distance to the temple from our place. At 7pm we went to the temple. After worshipping went around the festive ground, watched the activities, had popcorn and sugar cane juice. Back home at 10pm we had dosai and chutney for dinner. The next day after breakfast they said bye to us. Thank you my dear for being with us on Shivratri and making us specially happy and content. You are always welcome ❤️πŸ™

Service for Community ❤️

This ad I got in my WhatsApp, tend to go positive. Our society Subhadra, acted upon and we joined hands for the mission of Doctors and medical students for a great service to Cancer Care.
The dynamic volunteering group in turn motivated ,we seniors to complete our task of collecting and packing in time. We too knew that if a team of selfless service is behind us that’s more than enough to drive to success. Thank you so much Dr Aftab and team πŸ™
For Subhadra, an NGO for women, service is a prayer. Service is sacrificing one’s needs and comfort for the needs of another. Service is an act of humility. Service is a blessing ❤️
All the very best wishes to the whole team behind the program πŸ‘πŸ‘

We are not born with Courage, We learn it!

Today, March 8th, International Women’s Day. During our visit to Pune I missed official programs of Women’s Day celebrations. Morning visited and wished an elderly aunty at her home. Evening visited a friend who I really adore πŸ₯° We had a chat. I am so proud to introduce my bold and beautiful friend Mrs Geetha Unni before my readers.
A lady who made her passion of cooking as a productive time pass to live a quality life in her senior phase. In her younger years her cooking was highly appreciated by family, friends, relatives, neighbors and guests. She lost her husband when her kids were in their teens. When the children grew up in connection with their career they left home and settled in Middle East countries along with their families. It was so painful for her to be alone. For some years she frequently visited her children and spent few months with them. Back home again she felt lonely.
At this point she starts to think seriously about the years ahead. So what to do to overcome the loneliness and be a positive, strong person, mother and grandmother ?
She loves to teach. Thought of giving tuition to kids. ‘But if  I want to visit my children what shall I do with my students. I can’t leave them blank amidst the exams.’ So she left out the idea of giving tuition.
One day a student living next door asked her from where they can get meals. Due to their tight schedule they are not able to cook for themselves. She agreed to enquire and let them know in two days. That night in bed she was thinking about the girls. Suddenly an idea triggered her, ‘ Why not I take up the task? Why can’t I cook for them? I can inform them well in advance when I plan to visit my children and family.’ After a detailed conversation with her mind she decided to take up the new mission of cooking meals. The next day itself she replied and agreed to the girls. There it started about a decade before. Now she is very busy in cooking ‘soul food’, creative in innovating new recipes, ready to supply special food to patients. She is well known in her area. Her children are happy to see a strong mom. Yes, no doubt at all, she is doing a great service.
Thank you dear Geetha for sharing your life journey❤️Hats off to you Geetha🎩 God Bless πŸ™

Love and Prayers to all the Women in World

Love and greetings to all the women in the world on the special day of us ❤️
International women’s day 2020. The theme for 2020 is ‘Each for Equal’.
An equal world is an enabled world 🌍 Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality. Nice and superb πŸ‘
I can’t resist myself to scribble down  the service done by my intimate friends to a helpless weak lady who badly needed a shelter and care. She is the mother of two who are out of State. Seems like they are not able to reach their beloved mom. We can’t wait for you guys. My friends made it. They helped Ms Sobhana to get into a home of love and care. Hats off to you both. I assure my time and energy for all the kind services that can be extended to the women folk.
You both did a great service which shall open the eyes of her children. No mom may never face such a situation of loneliness. Let this be an eye opener to the society.
Let all of us may have the mindset to take care of the lonely and distressed women around,  if they really need a shelter and care.

An award from a beautiful soul ❤️

Got a phone call on February 1st from an unknown number. The person introduced her to me. Informed that she loves my book ‘Yogayum Streekalum’. She is a retired teacher and got the book from the yoga centre where she learns. She borrowed the book, read it and loved it. She was not able to get one for her own. In her own words’I started writing down the contents in a notebook. It’s not coming to an end. I wish to have one for me before returning back. I am 83. My shoulder is aching.Where can I get one?’ I know the book is available in HnC stores. But I assured I shall gift my book in person at your home. Then got the address. On 5th February I made it along with my husband. The hospitality of Mrs Thampatti surprised us. She was waiting for us in the portico with open arms and a beautiful smile along with her daughter in law’s mom. The greatest award for me. Thankful to the Almighty πŸ™πŸ™ God Bless you AmmaπŸ™ Stay healthy and happy ❤️
