A True Love Story of 1960's in Mukkam, Kozhikode, Kerala

Iruvazhanjipuzha
I saw the biographical romantic film "Ennu Ninte Moideen" written and directed by R.S. Vimal at San Antonio. The film is based on the real life story of Moideen and Kanchanamala which took place in the 1960s in Mukkam, Kozhikode. They belong in different religions and the inter religious marriages were not at all permitted in that time. Even in the strict restrictions the couple some how managed to communicate in their own language and through their intimate maids and friends. After several failed attempts to elope finally they were able to obtain the passport and elope to America. The tragedy was waiting to depart them for ever in the form of a boat mishap. While returning with their passport from the city Moideen drowned in the river Iruvazhinjippuzha in July 1982 when they were in their early forties. Moideen's mother holds her back from committing suicide and took her to Moideen's house where she lived as the unmarried widow of a bachelor determinedly serving the community in his name B.P.Moideen Seva Mandir and B.P.Moideen library.
Team with the real life heroine
As part of our social activities thought to meet her at her library along with our team from Aluva. Back from USA, the programme was sort out, got permission and it happened on 28th December 2015. The meeting of the real life heroine made us to be proud of a her who lived for true love. No one can love in her way. This is the special way of love. The way she turned her tragic love life into a service oriented social life in her lover's name is unique and divine. Her love has been about sacrifice and service. Everyday she is very busy with the charity works at Seva mandir, B.P.Moideen library, short stay home for distressed and lonely women which are headed by her. She is working hard to build up her dreams to serve the society around her. Our team experienced and enjoyed the love showered on us even she is so busy and observed her wholehearted dedication and devotion towards service to empower and uplift women and girls.
